Kathy Branzell is the founder and Chief Executive Officer/President of
Fellowship and Christian Encouragement (FACE) for Educators, which is an
Interdenominational Christian ministry serving public, private and home
educators. FACE is one of the fastest growing Christian ministries in the United
States, with prayer chapters motivating and encouraging educators throughout the
United States and around the world. In addition, Kathy manages an independent
educational consulting and speaking practice. Kathy is a member of America’s
National Prayer Committee and a founding member of the Mission America Public
School Ministries Coalition, IAM4SCHOOLS.COM, where she has worked on special
projects with the Secretary of Education, Rod Paige and President Bush’s office
of Faith Based Initiatives. She also partners with the Luis Palau Evangelistic
Association, traveling within the United States for the Luis Palau, “Great
Music! Good News!” Festivals to help host the festival’s Educator brunch. Her
focus is on the encouragement and improvement of teachers, children, educational
leadership, and those that support the educational process. Kathy can also be
heard daily on New Life Radio stations, giving encouragement during her
one-minute devotional called "Lesson Plan for Life."
Prior to assuming her present positions, Kathy served on Governor Hunt's (North
Carolina) educational commission called Smart Start. Kathy was responsible for
the evaluation childcare facilities, technical assistance, educator training,
and consulted on grant management. Her efforts contributed to millions of
dollars in federal and state funding to central North Carolina education
programs. During this period, she also served as an adjunct professor at the
Fayetteville Community College and conducted motivational/subject matter
workshops at numerous colleges, churches, schools, and professional conferences.
Earlier, she served on the instructor staff of the Early Childhood Development
Program, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, from 1995 to 1996; Regional
Trainer and Curriculum Developer, Kindercare, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, from 1992
to 1994. From 1988 to 1992, she held numerous educational positions including
Head Start, special needs, and Kindergarten teacher.
Kathy attended the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. She received a
bachelor of education degree, specializing in Early Childhood Education and
Child Development in 1990. She is married to her childhood sweetheart, Russell
and is the proud mother of two, Chandler and Emily Sara.
